First United Methodist Foundation Update
Our Foundation Board recently invited seven active First Church members to join the Board, effective Jan. 1, 2012. Don Barr, Jim Ellis, Nicole Hernandez, Rebecca Northan, Ron Smith and Ralph Walker attended a Board Orientation on Nov.1st. A seventh person may join later, due to another Church leadership opportunity. Nancy Wong has accepted the position of Foundation President, effective January 1, 2012. She is a 4-year Board member and began supporting the Foundation financially over 20 years ago.

Sam Gay has resigned Board membership after 14 years of service. We appreciate his collaboration w/RBC Wealth Management, the firm managing our investments. A $500 gift was confirmed recently, to the Bell Choir for purchase of table pad covers and skirts. Choir members raised nearly twice that amount for the project.

Please consider an end-of-year gift to the Foundation, organized in 1971 “for the purpose of engaging in religious, education and charitable activities within the State of Nevada and elsewhere”. The Foundation has supported a variety of projects in recent years, including both Capital Campaigns, “Drop-In-the-Bucket” start-up, piano rental for ArTown, two part time Assistant Pastors and purchase of a Power Point Projector and Screen.
